for the overhang shade, what I do, some is also how we did it in shipbucket in the past, was to have:

1 line of dark (same color you use for marking a break in the surface) shade followed by 2 line of standard shade color. occasionally I shade a little more (thicker) if the overhang is bigger or more enclosed.


edit: don't worry, we are not trying to pick on you... although it's fun, we just giving you an update :roll: :lol: :D

very nice and elegant drawing. There are still rumors of a dutch proposed cruiser of the 30ies which has quite the same design and main weapons as you depicted here. Even John Jordan mentioned it in one of his yearbooks "Warship", but can't remember what year. No plans appeared as of yet.
