This is the begining of what might be my redux of the Tamriel AU. I need to work out some details, or a lot of them.
Starting off is the the first all big gun battleship built by the Emprie; the HIMS Cyrodiil. Built to give the Empire of Cyrodiil an advantage in the naval arms race that has been gripping the nations of Tamriel since the revolution of steel and coal. Industry, and nationalism is rampant on the fledgling continent, as nations race to secure valuable resources, both domestic, and abroad. The Empire, weakened by the seceeding Morrowind, and High Rock, a mere 150 years ago has taken the lead by building a new class of warship, one bigger, and more powerful than ever before. By removing the various calibers that dotted the hulls, and superstructure of the ships of old, imperial ship builders were able to focus on building what really mattered; bug guns. Lots of them.
His Imperial Majesties Ship Cyrodiil (BB30) was the next ship of many, to hold the coveted, and dare I say sacred name, Cyrodiil. She represented the Empires undying plight to stay ahead of its competitors, Skyrim and the Aldmeri Dominion. Always watching, always ready to defend its borders, the Imperial Military would always try to get any edge over its enemies. She was built to become a class of her own; a super-battleship. Dwarfing all that had been built before. Faster, more heavily armored, and much more heavily armed, she truly had no equal. She was paraded around, a symbol of the Empires power, and technological advancement.
The ship is a full 165 meters long (542ft) 26 meters wide (86ft) and 8,5 meters deep (28ft)
She carried 12x12"/45 cal Model 1904 guns. With a secondary battery of 8x5"/40 caliber guns to ward off cruisers, and destroyers.
She had 12 inches of armor, on the turret faces, the main belt, and the conning tower.
Her coal fired boliers drove two turbines giving her a top speed of 21 knots.
She had a heavy torpedo loadout for a battleship, four tubes, with 3 reloads per tube.
