Post subject: | UMC |
The United Muslim Commonweath was formed in 1970 when a series of revolutions across Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, the UAE and Egypt changed the political balance. Kuwait attempted to bring talks between all sides and eventually two new nations where setup. The UMC consisted of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar which decided to become a regional superpower and the UAE, Oman and Yemen formed a new nation called the United Arab League was setup to counter this nation by also to be a major ally of the US as well as the UMC. Within two years both of the nations had setup a Middle Eastern Council (MEC (No not off Battlefield 2) along side Kuwait, Jordan and Syria. The league now has good relations with Isreal and all nations recognise it as a state. Recently Isreal has joined the MEC The UMC deployed peacekeepers during the Iran-Iraq war and provided support to escorts of civil vessels. Alongside this when Iraq invaded Kuwait, air strikes were autherised within 3 hours and carried out within 5. The league assisted in the retaking of Kuwait and the policing of the No Fly Zone. In 2000 Scuds were launched at the UMC and an occupation occured. This military action was deemed correct by the international community due to the fact that the occupation was to reduce the risks to civilians. Iraq is now a stable Muslim democracy that has joined the MEC. In 2004 more oil was discovered in the Red Sea and the Gulf. Alongside this in 2005 the oilfields where found to hold even more oil than already thought and this has increased the wealth of the nation dramatically. The nation had also refused to get involved in Afganistan until 2010 when it send 500 men to Camp Bastion to assist UK operations. Where as this AU forum is about the ship design this forum is about the stories and militaries. It differs from NS as it is totally forum based and real world based. I also offer SB users whom would like to the chance to be mods on this forum. I will post more info in the General Discussion forum about this. Many Thanks Nick |

Here is the SAR cutter. It is designed to be able to be used as a OPV during war. It carries a Lynx, 2 .50 HMG (Fitted for not with), 2 RIBS. |

The RHIB wouldn't survive for long in that position and in between the ships crew, boat crew and helo crew living space is going to be cramped to say the least. Not a good thing for what is essentially a coast guard cutter. |

if its SAR, why is it still painted on naval grey? Wouldn't it be more purposefull for rescue missions to have high visibility markings and paint-scheme?? |

...oh God that looks hideous. For the record, most coast guards, including in the US, use overall white-painted hulls with hi-viz striping. |

Also, since it's Arab, it should have Arabic lettering in addition to Roman letters. |

Here is a new WIP based on Paul Carls OPV. I don't know if I really needed RHIBs so left it with a crew of 4 Officers, 12 Ratings plus aircrew. It is fitted for but not with 2 0.50inch HMG and 1 20mm Cannon. Many Thanks Nick |
