Hey, everyone, I'm Daemyrs. I've been a member of shipbucket for a little while, but, I haven't really done anything of note. I'm hoping to fix that, however, by creating the USDN, the navy of my SMS nation.

So far this is what I have:
Total active duty naval personnel-35,000
Total reserve naval personnel-8,500
Total Marine Corps personnel-10,000

Ships in service:

3 Verkhoyansk class LPHs (Iwo Jima class)
3 Arnold class LSTs (Newport class)
4 Black Briar class FFGs (Iver Huitfeldt class)
8 Ronald Meade class FFGs (Absalon class)
6 Predator class SSKs (German type 212)
3 Mule class AORs (Amsterdam class)

All of these ships are named, but I don't want to clutter the page.

Daemyrs operates three task groups. Each has an LPH, LST, a Black Briar, 2 Meades, an SSK, as well as an AOR. The remaining three subs act independently of the fleets, while the 3 FFGs serve as active reserves, prepared to replace any ship under maintenance, etc.

Daemyrs has two full-sized carriers under construction, on which will go into service as the flagship of the Daemyrtian navy, while the other is being sold to an allied nation.

Aircraft:
Each LPH carries a standard complement of six harriers, two Sea Knights, two Super Stallions, and twelve Sea Hawks.
For the carrier, the navy has purchased some navalised variants of the Air Force's F-7s (a mix of F-15, F-16, and F/A-18).

Thanks to Colo, TimothyC, and Acelanceloet for help via the irc channel. I'm nowhere near done, though.

Needing work are:
Aircraft
Coast Guard

I'd very much appreciate help.

So I created and aircraft not entirely too sure if you meant that when saying "needing work"
however I enjoyed myself.

Why so much amphibious capability. You don't have enough Marines to use even two of those Iwo Jimas at capacity.

I would personally, judging by the size of the rest of your forces operate something along the lines of the Juan Carlos 1 or Tarawa/Wasp and 2 LSL (Like the Bay Class). This is however only if your AU nation really needs expeditionary warfare capablity. This would allow you to keep FFGs for roles other than escorting the Ampibs (Such as Convoy Roles, Humanitarian, Anti-Piracy etc.)

Also don't build new carriers without more escorts, they can't all always be at see. IIRC Iwo's can't operate Harriers, but don't quote me on that one.

Just my 2 cents

Nick

Some sources say yes, and I suppose if the deck can handle the heat there is no reason they coulding, but a cursory search showed no pictures with them on deck and the AV-8s operation history I could find in five minutes or searching showed them operating off the Tarawa in the eary ears when Iwos were still around.

For an AU I don't think it is out of the question by any means.

you make one good point, if the deck can handle the heat, and of course the very concentrated force combined with it on the same place over and over. you need additional strength for that, which the Iwo Jima could have, but most likely has not, build in into her construction.

I know LPH-2 had Harriers, which it picked up some time in '77.
