During the time period 1860 to 1880 Haram had only three larger sea going combat vessel. One of them was No.2 class cruiser/Iron clad. They was build with similar armament as the No.1 class just with a bigger hull and bigger machinery. they did also carry 4 twin mount 5.76" guns. there top speed was barely hitting 14 knots. they was designed around protection, armament ant then was given as big engine that was possible to install. No. 2 class was also the biggest war ship build and in service for Haram from 1860 to 1895. After 1875 Haram had a economical down time and couldn't support any big military force, so all it's military was focused around self defense. It was first in 1890 when Haram discovered a new resources that will bring Haram rich to a high level. |

Among the many old ship in Haram in the time period of 1860 to 1900 there was some ships that was build for river and coastal protection, they was slow, small and build chap as possible. They was the Riverin class and the experimental ship of the Laz class. Riverin class was among the most successful monitor in Haram Navy they did exactly what they was build for. to be River protector with capacity to move close the coastline, and carry big enough guns to give any ships problem. There armament consisted of 2 twin tower with 11" guns and some smaller guns. Riverin class was later upgraded with a single 6 inch gun, because Haram was in need of larger caliber guns that could move up it's river and protect it. Laz class was a large ugly monster that didn't work as good as intended but what she could do is deliver an awesome artillery blow from her four 13 inch guns. Here sea capability was rather very bad, but somehow she was stable and thus she almost never leaved Harbor, and thus become a floating harbor fortress. She was later upgraded with two single 6 inch guns to try to improve her sea capability. a month after her upgrade she capsized when she was traveling in open sea in an annual naval warship show in Haram. |
