Imperial Vestrician Navy
Imperial Vestrician Navy is the maritime warfare branch of the Vestrician Armed Forces, tasked with the naval defense of Vestricia. The IVN was formed following the dissolution of the Royal Vestrician Self-defense Navy and Vestrician Defense Forces in 1977 after failed communist and military coup d'etat, declaration of Imperial Edict and Pax Imperium Constitution in 1980, reinstated from Federation of Monarchy to Imperial Republic, and reformation of Vestrician Armed Forces in 1988.
Organization and Structure
The IVN is commanded by the Chief of the Maritime Defense. Its structure consists of the Vestrician Admiralty, the Vestrician Imperial Fleet, four regional district commands, the air-training squadron and various support units, such as hospitals and schools. The Vestrician Admiralty, located in Villan, serves the Chief of Staff in commanding and supervising the force.
The Vestrician Imperial Fleet, headquartered at Sakuramine City, consists of the IVN's military shipping. It is composed of Home Fleet(based on Casablanca Arsenal), Fleet Escort Force (based in Sakuramine, Casablanca, Villan and Akinagawa), the Fleet Air Force headquartered at Hanazaki, Fleet Submarine Force based at Villan and Sakuramine, Mine Warfare Force based at Casablanca and the Fleet Training Command at Port-au-Royale.
The ship prefix IVN (Imperial Vestrician Ship) was first used during its formation in 1840 until 1948, at which time RVFSDN(1948-1977), and later IVN ships started using the prefix HVMS (His Vestrician Majesty Ship) to restore the old traditions documented by the Ministry of Maritime Defense (now Vestrician Admiralty). As of 2022, the IVN operates a total of 165 ships (excluding minor auxiliary vessels), totalling 2,257,250 of its overall tonnage including 4 aircraft carriers, 2 battlecruisers (ceremonial), 6 guided missile cruisers, 11 guided missile destroyers, 10 general purpose destroyers, 50 guided missile frigates, 40 corvettes, 20 attack submarines, 6 amphibious transport docks, eight training vessels and a fleet of various auxiliary ships.
