Of course said Italian speed runs were often conducted without such things as guns or armor aboard...

I think the current amount of funnel is pretty excessive. Compare it to Alaska, a bigger ship with probably 2/3 the stack area. There's no way you have more power than she did, as you don't have enough screw area to absorb it!

I'd have no more than four SPG-53 and probably four Mk 56. Two of the former and four of the latter is more plausible.

The drawing itself is very attractive, of course.

Should change this forum into a discussion forum, and open a clean Historical AU forum for Haram (it's like planebucket which is divided into two forums) for otherwise it's just get messy.

will also make a better story for each of the vessels. since there are many ships in the Haram, so can you make the Story for a single ship that I have drawn, if you want.

Project 0134D, although a very good drawing, wonderfull to look at, has some flaws in design-concept.
A ship like this, I presume a destroyer, has too big funnels set close together.
You have a fire control with radar, but no air-search or surface-search radars?
The bridge lacks details (even for one modelled on Swedish destroyers bridge design).
The cows of the ship lack sheer which will make it wet in anything but a flat-calm.
These are remarks for a very well drawn work.

I designed maybe a little too fast. will take to look at it tomorrow. ;)

Yeah, your funnels are no longer stupid-looking...but you're still doubling-up on more than what you need.

Your Andromeda class for example - by my very rough estimate those funnels can handle a high-speed warship up to 120,000 tons and would signify machinery spaces that presently would take up 2/3s of the entire hull. One funnel would quite suffice for the whole ship.

In fact, it would free up a perfect spot for a catapult where the aft funnel is presently - something this type of warship would typically have. Oh, and having ~7 inch guns in four! beam turrets wouldn't likely be very stable or at least conductive to any machinery or bunkerage below it - and you'd need more diversity in directors too.

Likewise Project 0149D - I'd delete the aft funnel again and use the space to strengthen the AA armament or even torpedo tubes, why not - but otherwise a fine ship.

EDIT: And I've read over some of the earlier critiques. Not to criticize him but I'm baffled where bezer got the idea that it needed more funnel - the original funnel was sufficient for a fast battleship as it was, let alone a cruiser. And it looks like you somewhat misinterpreted Golly's and Erik's suggestions. You'll most likely need a surface-spotting director on the top of the fore and aft towers for effective surface fire with this kind of weaponry (which I'm assuming is not semi-automatic).

Or if you want to have two funnels slim them! and why not add an attractive angle to it? And erik_t, I knew, of course the Italians' little tricks with regards to how they obtained their fantastic speeds, hence my reference to 'light displacement'. Anyone with any knowledge to shipdesigner history ought to be able to pick that reference up ;) :D - No, what I was most concerned about was the solid straight aft floatplane, impeding the ship's turning radius and probably also arresting its overall speed capacity. I meant for our good gent HeuHen to have some of that deadwood simply cut away, so that the shafts acquire a better grip in the water and also give the rudder a better radius of turn. I'd prefer anytime, though, slimmer uptakes, especially in cruiser designs!
And klagldsf...don't call me bezer! That's plain disrespectful, thank you!
