Excellent points but there is still no reason you couldn't use APAR/SMART-L to cue the missiles in the first place, although as you point out both SAMPSON and EMPAR are S-band (just like AN/SPY-1), and thus better suited for the longer range engagement envelope. Now only if the missiles used could take advantage of that envelope.

I use APAR and SM-2, but am looking at eventually switching to SM-6. Still, even with that, SM-2 is going to be in the inventory a good many years, as the conversion isn't going to occur overnight. The AAW vessels are going to get first dibs on them, with the rest of the fleet gradually recieving theirs over time.

This does bring up the point though, is Samson and Standard SM-6 compatable?

To answer the question, I think they are with the usual pain of integration.

Alongside the Frigates, Corvettes and OPVs the ex-Largs Bay has been purchased and been extensively modified to include a hanger and 2 LCPs on davits. In its modification it was also made suitable for front line naval activities and to be capable of putting a reasonable force ashore with our allies.

Please any comments.

Delivery has occurred and modifications will begin soon.

put the new goalkeeper on baord, as well as the new versions of the helicopters. I highly doubt this update is commendable, but I will let other guys comment on that.

At 4am on the 16th of December at about 4:00am reports that a couple with CCS citizenship had been murdered by the new dictator of the Isle of Man's paramilitary force. Within an 3 hours a rapid reaction force was put on standby to evacuate CCS citizens and anyone else that wishes to leave the island. A frigate and two corvettes have been sent from Faslane and will be on station very soon. Both Nimrods have been scrambled so one is constantly in the air as a command post. The army's parachute battalion has been stood by to be flown in. An emergency meeting is currently occurring via telecommunications within the EU.

Recently the Isle of Man has ordered that the CCS stand down or risk possible engagement. Upon hearing this it was decided to mount a small scale evacuation operation. Two C-130s supported by Eurofighters and Nimrod have landed and siezed the airport on the island and are demanding safe passage for people wishing to leave. With the dictator (John Calibri) refusing to stand down a small engagement happened about half a mile away from the air field in which 4 enemy troops were injured. With a perimeter now established shuttle flights are bringing in more troops until Calibri stands down. If he doesn't do so by 4 o'clock air strikes will be authorised.

Sorry have had a few problems recently,

After 3 days of fighting the CCS took Douglas and announced that it would stay until everything was soughted. After long and drawn out negotiations with the UN and EU it was decided that it should become a member of the CCS. Under this it was decided that the John Calibri should stand trail for murder. This trail is ongoing and no decision has been reached.

Another major development is the fact that Eire has repayed its loans and has joined the CCS as a member. Its navy has been donated to the Iraqi navy as an act of good will and this has been greeted as a brilliant act of good will. Its personal and the rest of the military has been intergrated.

The navy now stands out at:
1 Atlantic Class LHD
4 Moded Type 22 Batch 3
4 Island Class Corvettets
8 Lake Class OPV
and 4 Ocean Class AAW frigates on order.

Here now I post the coastguard.

Four of the Eight Lake Class OPVs have been transfered. They have had all but the forward gun removed and put into storage and they have had a helipad installed on the back along side twin ribs.

Two of the new Caldicot Class OPV have also been ordered and these will be armed with the same gun but will have the primary role of policing waters off Somalia on behalf of the navy etc.

Here is the Polar Class DDG, I used the basic hull of the Gemstone by Blackbuck and shortend it in some places and lengthened it in others. Also there is a VLS forward and amidships. The amidships VLS is for Sea Wolf and the forward one contains Aster, Scalp N, SM-3 and Harpoon. It also has the Mk 8 Mod 1 gun. Goalkeeper is the CIWS and there is roon for 2 AW-149. The sensors forward are no replaced by SAMPSON and the aerials are within the superstructure.
