Whilst I'm going through a carrier fetish phase I figure I'll drop this by. More than likely it will take me forever to finish as I'm currently trundling along with both the Sea Frame and CVR but an actual thought out Andarta will be done! Before any of you say either, I'm aware it is the size of a small county but the thing was always meant to be big, one of the reasons indeed why she is unique in Atlantian service.

Jesus H. Christ, This looks cool so far and its only a deck plan/outline/whatever.

Keep it up Blackbuck, I may be a noob so you don't have to listen to me, but I love your works. It definitely show's how much effort you put in.

Looks good. I take it she has a British style double hanger?

Thanks for the comments!

@ Tim, yes. Yes she does.
@ ace, the bulb is near enough just a quick edit of the one from the other WIP carrier so that is bound to be revised. Regarding poweplant spaces, I've gotta do some research into the space that a nuclear powerplant would take up I've got a rough Idea of what I need to do but I'd rather read into what I'm doing first.

Well, one of my friends had put this together for CVN-65. Blue is the hanger, Purple is the reactor spaces, yellow is engine room spaces, and I don't remember what the rest are.

Speaking of engine spaces, I'd increase the height between the double hull there, or ad a third to improve mine protection.
Anywhere else and you can probably keep on fighting, but loose an engine room and you're reduced to survival.

For that matter, the machinery spaces themselves seem almost microscopic. What speed is envisioned? I have trouble imagining much above 20kts as things currently stand.

A somewhat rationalized and real system using revamp of the Gemstone. I stress these are as you can imagine, heavy WIPs.

An update to the Agrona replacement

[ img ]

ETA: Added "Batch 5" Gemstones (As yet unnamed but set for construction in the near future, they will be a revised repetition of the "Batch 2" vessels in so much that they are GP vessels. Final tally should be 13x AAW, 5x ASW and 16x GP vessels. The last eight being constructed between late 2012 and 2015.
