Hi Emperor_Andreas,

The ship looks nice, but Constitution? I thought that there was already a Constitution in active service at that point (and to this day) - the 1790s frigate, in much the same fashion as the British Victory...

Adam

Technically speaking Constitution was the name of one of the planned Lexington class Battlecruisers too..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Consti ... 5%29#Ships
Any omonimy with the old ship was avoided by renaming Old Ironsides into "Old Constitution" on December 1917. Obviously, when the Battlecruiser was canceled under the Washington Naval Treaty terms Old Ironsides effectively returned to her original name, officaly on 24 July 1925.
I suppose we might assume that the same escamotage was used in Emperor's AU too.

Nice concept ship, but the use of the name Antietam was already use by an Essex class carrier CV-36

That's right, and with the war being extended to late '46, she would have seen action along with Boxer, Kearsarge, Tarawa, Phillipine Sea and Princeton... something to think about, anyways...

may I ask, on the Constitution class, what did you sacrifice for the heavier arnament on the same hull? you have heavier main guns, more secondaries ....
I also cannot really see why you moved the funnel, floatplane there or not, I think it is now in a worse position then originally for smoke interference.

Hi Ace,

I'd figured that the main guns were now twins instead of triples, wouldn't that (roughly) come out the same weight?
