Patiño/Amsterdam/A150 Class
A three nation wide design, and later on in service at 4 nations.
Collaboration between the three nations started at the end of the 80's was intended to bring a new replenishment oiler.
A ship that was versatile between any mission that the three navy's could ask for.
They where designed to be cheap, easy to build and have a more background operation task.
However the Benelux and Fryssian navy's equiped their ships with CIWS for self defence.

In the Fryssian navy they sought 3 units so there was always one active. Any of these would be the 2nd line oiler in the navy.
The A140 class fleet replenishment oilers and the A135 Class Fleet Oilers where the first line for the CBG's and task forces.
The A150 class replaced the aged A130 replishment oilers. These where around the same size and capacity of the A150 Class.
This way they fit perfectly in the already ongoing needs and specifications requirements.

In 2015 the navy sought to replace the aging A140 Class with 2 new units.
The navy selected the A150 Class to do so, however not as the original A150 Class.
The new units would be longer, more advanced and have more capabilities and self defence systems.
Better radars and speed plus range was also required.
The ships are far greater at length and heavier.
These ships will be shown later in this AU.

Whilst I don’t have much in the way of technical commentary to give I have to say that it’s good to see you two posting again, your drawings are always high quality and it’s nice to see a whole armed forces take shape.

Improved Amsterdam/A150 Class named the A160 Class

This class is an development of the A150 Class of my previous post.
The Spanish and the Australians have the Cantabria class, their own improvement of the previous ones.
The Fryssian navy went on alone and improved the class by itself.

Their intentions where different and needed different capabilities.
These involved Carrier Battle Group support and Self Defence.
In order to do this, the ships gained the Rolling Airframe Missile system instead of the Goalkeeper CIWS.
Aswell as 2x 30mm point defence systems and hitrole .50's.
To use these weapons for self defence, the ships would also gain a NS-100 Aerial and Surface radar.

By 2015 the design was being developed and quickly crew to a near 21000 tonnes design.
The old design was stretched and slighty widened for a double hull confirguration.
The ship's can now hold 6 extra shipping containers between the forecastle and the 1st row of RAS towers.
The Refueling station has gained a major improvement, and are joined togheter. This also improves the RAS operations.
The bridge has a gained a connection towards the RAS operations room/tactical room/ops room.
The Bridge and operations room(On the A150 this one is located on the aft castle) are thus connected and gained a new name. CONR (COmmand Navigation Room)

Both units are to be ordered by 2020 and start construction in 2020 and 2021.
It is not yet known when they will be commisioned.

Improved A150 Class
-****-A435, Ålborg
-****-A436, Bremerhuuwen

Gorgeous work on those AORs - my only quibble, and this goes for the other vessels as well - is that the shading around the windows is quite dark. I like the idea of the shading, but perhaps a slightly lighter shade of blue?

Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the kind words, from ro po aswell and Tank Man.

The shading on the windows are not shading, those are big screen wipers.
The Karel Doorman JSS has them too, they run from the top all the way down

I see - in that case, my apologies - carry on and keep up the good work!
