Thanks BCRenown :)

I'm going through and finishing drawings that have been 80-90% complete for ages, and the first cab off the ranks is the Castletown class destroyer:

Very nice destroyer (and I like the colours), my only observation is do you need 2 types of 40mm ?

A very interesting design. I can't help but to worry at the lack of main artillery aft, being unable to fire those guns in all directions seems to be a potential weakness. It does make her look slightly bow-heavy.

If it were me I'd swap the B mount aft and revise the AAA layout so you can broadside with the Hazemeyers.

Post subject:  Re: Commonwealth of Recherche

The "Battles' lack of astern fire never sat well with me. Several years ago I drew a design with a third 4.5" turret at the expense of the aft bank of torpedo tubes. For your scrutiny:

Post subject:  Re: Commonwealth of Recherche

I think it looks great.

In an aircraft-dominated theatre of war, more AA firepower makes more sense. How many destroyers ever used all three mounts in action at once in a surface action?
The pom-pom, Bofors mix is odd, but the pom-pom was favoured as an anti-MTB weapon.
