 A very sad addendum to some of the drawings posted in this thread:

Craig Burke, AKA "Admiral Furashita" of "Furashita's Fleet" on combinedfleet.com passed away on 4 February 2013 after a long battle with prostate cancer. I corresponded with him quite a bit in my early days of IJN research, and he always had a kind and encouraging word for my enthusiasm. He shall be sorely missed by all IJN buffs and those of us who draw AU ships.

Yes very sad news to lose such a great contributor and inspiration. He will be missed.

Oh wow! That's bad news indeed - his site was one of the first I stumbled across when I first became interested in naval ships back in 2007. Sad news.

Furashita's Fleet got me interested in "Never-Were's" a good many years ago. Damn!

Indeed, very sad news. The first AU site I ever stumbled across was his Furashita's Fleet and he made a whole series of excellent model what-if aircraft and ships too with some really original concepts.

I'm... lost for words.

A great loss. Fare well, mr. Burke.
