My reply was on the ''boat by hand'' not about the friend. I posted after I say there was a next page. I only can't understand why you will use your crew's muscles to lift the boat offboard.

Yes, the problems of all using a common language, but not all sharing the same variations. I did 'grok' barnest2's meaning being British myself (note British not English, as I'm essentially a Scot). "Thanks awfully old chap" is archaic English, used nowadays for irony 8-)
