You could easily mount a .50 either side of the bridge superstructure and have the boat as well.

Mounted a boat aft. It's only small, but I don't think this ship really needs much.
an HMG was also mounted on either side of the bridge.

You're going to need a way to recover it. It's not impossible to do without a crane or davit, but it's a whole lot easier with one.
