if I hadn't read about the type 12 hull in friedman's british destroyers yesterday, I would not have made that comment :P please, look at real ships and not at AU ships, as peoples knowledge changes faster then any of us is drawing :P

Oh, Sod off ace :P
I'm trying to find other designs with the same weapon, or even any details on the weapon. Any ideas on resources? It doesn't seem to be particularly common.

it was on the wielingen class, the dutch A and B jagers (holland and friesland class) and most likely some others too, but I'd have to check for more.

sorry for not being clear.
I did not mean to say it can never be placed on the bow of an ship.
I meant to say it might not be able to be placed there on that ship in a rebuild :P

Oh I see! Right, I understand now :P
Now, It's been there since the ship was built. They're not standard Leanders, unsurprisingly, they're modified for company service. Hence the bofors mortar.
So there's no new deck penetrating equipment, just extra bits and bobs. Oh, and the phalanx.

ah, that makes a lot more sense then. this is such a moment that I wanted that I had an deck plan for the leander lying around, so I can tell what was there and if that would be an problem, but from the AU line of sight......... I suppose it is doable. (and an phalanx has also no deck pen ;) )

Right. So I just need to move the egg and fiddle and then it's happy happy for a late 80's refit :P
For some reason I thought the phalanx has, but now you've said that... I was just being a bit silly.
