Wow, Boyarin's bow angle below the waterline is pretty extreme, it nearly mirrors the stern  Even so since , as you said in the foreword of this thread, Novgorod ships are based on never-built Russian ones. It is pretty interesting.
Keep up the good work :)

More excellent additions!

I think these are among the best versions of these AU concepts for Novgorod we've seen so far.

Normally don't bother reading big text walls (love the map more of them or splitting it up would make it much more readable) but in this case through it well worth it  8-).

My only questions are would the Pacific fleet not sail to the north sea (or Med) to join WW1 ? (in a reverse of the 1905 ?)
They can use the British bases to make it quick and easy and would really be appreciated to help the RN total dominate more than OTL.

In terms of the drawing they look great (unsurprisingly) my only questions are with the 1895 and 1898 PDs 152mm turrets will they fit in the darker gaps ? (the gaps look off centre and maybe to small to rotate ?)

Anyway looking forward to more !

Thanks

It took me bit first to realize what you ment by the 152 guns, But yeah they do look bit offcenter. However the shape and withd of the ship is perhaps not that well illustrated in the drawing. The design is based on a rather unusual Russian battleship proposal by Guliaev which has very wide-beam, narrow-draft and flat shaped hull and there were actually considerable space between the superstructure and the beam of the ship. I've only used the profile as a base for bit more conventional looking ship with slight tumblehome-hull. However the main deck beam is similar to the original design. Here's a drawing of the Guliaev design.

Hope you don't mind if I cut a small diagram of what I was trying to say,
[ img ]

As you can see the mount is not central to the recess for it so when it rotates its back will hit (unlike the top view above where they are centred)

Hope that makes sense, JSB
