Murrumbidgee Class Frigate

The Murrumbidgee Class Frigates were originally built as ASW platforms but have since been converted to general purpose frigates with both an AAW and ASW capability.

There are 10 vessels in total - 5 (IFAS Coopers Creek (pictured), IFAS Maryborough (pictured), IFAS Maranoa, IFAS Murchison and IFAS Torrens), of which are homeported at Fleet Base West, IFAS Stirling and the remaining 5 (IFAS Murrumbidgee (pictured), IFAS Macleay (pictured), IFAS Parramatta (pictured), IFAS Tallebudgera Creek and IFAS Queanbeyan) at Fleet Base South East, Sydney.

That machine gun is mounted on the port side and the aft exhaust exits on the starboard side. I can see the dilemma though. Oh, and thanks for the feedback. This is my first AU so bear with me.

Brisbane Class Guided Missile Destroyer

The Brisbane Class Guided Missile Destroyer is based on the Farragut and Charles Adams Class DDG's of the USN. Originally designated ASW Destroyers they have now been reconfigured as potent AAW destroyers except for IFAS Brisbane which was not upgraded and donated to the Australian Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, Sydney. All 3 upgraded platforms (IFAS Hobart (pictured), IFAS Sydney and IFAS Darwin) are homeported at Fleet Base South East, Sydney and form Number 1 Destroyer Squadron. All vessels are expected to remain in service until 2018 and will be replaced by the Castlemaine Class Air Warfare Destroyer.

The Rockhampton Class Air Warfare Frigates are the successors to the Murrumbidgee and Condamine Class Frigates. There have been 8 produced in total. Nice, I was wondering when we would see this :D

I really like the Rockhampton Class, but I imagine it would displace more than 3,600 tonnes. My only other concern is that there aren't enough Western Australian names :P

Thanks Rowdy, I am on leave so I have heaps of time to do some pixel bashing. Thanks for pointing out the error in the displacement. I was using one of my templates and forgot to change the displacement to 5,100 tonnes. All fixed :D
