Impressive, but I think you've forgotten to ad TTs on the second BB. At least there's none under neath the torpedo.

I take it that the Sovs didn't let the Japanese have any real freedom in designing their vessels?
None of the extremely sexy lines that the Japanese are famous for- and I don't understand why?
They all just look so... Russian.

Interesting Yamato conversion up top... did one survive the war, or did they finish Shinano as a BBG after the war rather than a carrier during the war?

What I'm really waiting on is the backstory- how did Japan wind up Communist, when their only non-negotiable point during surrender was to be allowed to keep their Emperor?

One senario that comes to mind is that the Russians invaded the northern home islands and became a significant element in the occupation. At the same time the US was reducing it's forces, and the Russians took the lead on rebuilding/supplying the JMSDF.
Also, the US was heavily involved in Korea and SE Asia and saw China as it's major challenger in the Pacific.
It would have been interesting to see the Japanese building ships that were a combination of Russian structure and US combat/sensor systems.

Eh... I don't mean interested as in 'how it could have really happened.' I mean 'can't wait to read his storyline, as Alvama makes some awesome ships, but he makes alternate histories that are almost as awesome as his ships.'

I just wanna see how it all plays out.
