Ooyodo-class Multi-mission Frigates



Ooyodo-class Frigates are a modified version of the French variant of FREMM (Frégate Européenne Multi-Mission) in service in the Royal Vestrician Federation Self-defense Navy.

Development
After the UN Ratification, the whole fleet is needing smaller vessels to complement the formation and structure of the fleet. With only aircraft carriers, battlecruisers, destroyers, and littoral combat ships commissioned around that time, the navy lacks anti-submarine warfare vessels to depend on against hostile Chinese and Russian submarines. To address this, the government conducted a "Frigate Acquisition Project" at Yokohama.

Five bidders participated in the bid, namely the Fincantieri (Italian FREMM), Naval Group(French FREMM), Austal USA(modified Independence-class LCS), Hyundai Heavy Industries(Incheon and/or Daegu), and China State Shipbuilding Corporation(Type 054A). The government resisted participating the Chinese company in this bid in fear of making their government retaliate against them, but they make a deal that if they participate in this competition, it signifies that Vestricians is not hostile to any countries.

Three companies are qualified for the bidding — the Italian, French, and Chinese. The Italian company back out of the bidding because of circumstances (the Italian La Spezia Maritime School offers a secret deal to acquire all their modern navy assets designs in exchange for 3 Littorio-class battleships and information that they steal in Yoshida Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Department 2 months before the acquisition project commence.) The two companies convince the government fiercely, however, the French won the bid. On the other hand, the Vestrician government acquires the Chinese proposal for corvettes and amphibious transport docks.

Design
The design of this class is derived from the Aquitaine class with major design changes to meet the requirement for this vessel. The hull and superstructure didn't change. However, the main tower mast was removed to add more stealthiness and reduce the radar-cross section of this ship. In addition, the ship uses the Visby-class corvettes for the arrangements of weaponry. The missile canisters for the Anti-ship missile is hidden inside the ship. It used Oto-Melara 76mm Super Rapid gun for naval gun support. It also has a RAM missile launcher for a close defense system.

It has 10 ships in the class, named from the World War 2 Imperial Japanese Navy light cruisers.

How will the gunners do maintenance on the gun mount and clean the gun barrel?

I hope I'm not wrong to my own philosophy about my personal design of LCS but I planned it to have a machinery in the forecastle deck to raise it in the same level as the gun deck for gun cleaning and maintenance. Also, I planned in that part to have a rough texture deck plating for the safety of the crew. However, the drawback for that is that gun cleaning and maintenance can be done when it is in port or drydock. It is such risky to do it in a rough and calm seas as waves can make sailors to be fell in the ship during cleaning.

Now, if it is deemed impossible, I planned also to train the gun directly to 180 degrees and elevate it to 20 to 30 degrees to remove the gun barrel where crew can clean it at dock. It is very possible to 76mm gun, however, it will be problematic to Bofors MK3 gun.

Richelieu-Class Guided Missile Battleships

Richelieu-class of the Royal Vestrician Federation Self-defense Navy is a class of guided missile fast battleships. This class is the latest and one of the four classes of large caliber gun vessels in the modern era where battleships were no longer used in any of the powerful countries in the world, and still thriving to revive by Royal Vestrician Federation after the decision to retain all battleships and carriers as the backbone of the fleet. It is used as a flagship of all squadrons of Force de Raid, a raiding force tasks to protect the national interests of Vestricians and its allies against hostile countries.

Development
After the UN Ratification, the whole government bodies were time slip to the World War 2 era. Without any powerful countries and ships to protect them, they need to think of their options — either make asylum to Empire of Japan or United States, stay in one of the islands in the Pacific and make a forward operating base for further operation, or to be marooned in the middle of the Pacific. With neither of them finally decide on the path they'll take, the Admiral Magistrate discuss with the Emperor a lack of capabilities to self-protect themselves against the two opposing sides, with only one carrier, one battlecruiser, and 4 destroyers on their side, they will be subjected to frontal attacks of either opposing sides. Thus, they need a valuable force to counter any of those sides.

Design
The design of this class is comparable to the actual Richelieu-class battleships of the French Marine Nationale from its size and arrangement. However, it incorporates stealth to reduce radar cross section and make it as look like World War 2 warship while retaining its modern weapons as much as possible. This class equipped 380mm/60 caliber guns in quadruple mount, the largest caliber to equip to their navy at that time. It has a rate of fire of 2 rounds per minute with a well considerable accuracy and precision that outmatch any potential threat in their area. The secondary armaments is 128 cells VLS in amidship before hangar which are separated in two groups of 64 cells for various kinds of missiles. They also equipped 3 inch guns and Phalanx CIWS for close defense. Armor layout is as same as it's WW2 counterpart with a Missile Protection System with 200mm thickness.

After JS Haruna fled to Holy Francian Republic under Jeanne de Richelieu, Jean Bart change her missile load out and close defense to the weapons which are used on Haruna without permission to the Naval Ministry and Yoshida Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology Department. Also, the retrofit that Jeanne made for her ship is highly powerful that she can independently neutralize any potential threat sorround her between 50-225 km single-handedly.
