I don't like that the forward CIWS is masked by the main gun.

I have been working the last time on ships for the navy's for a new AU i wil start wen i have Internet in my new home.
The fist one is based on a export ship from Rowdy36 . As my AU also is in the Indian Ocean like Recherge the smal navy of New texel have orderd 4 Den Burg class ships in Recherge.

The second ship is based on the Damen LST design

The other two are in Rochfort build S Class fregats

nicely done! I only wonder a bit about the 40mm on the batch 2. the dutch ships were to be fitted with the goalkeeper CIWS, but that was not available directly after construction. for that reason 40mm single mountings were fitted, of the same type as was on the friesland class they replaced (actually, most likely it was a mounting off one of the Friesland Class.) (on a sidenote: mounting is recently redrawn for the friesland class drawings on the bucket, https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/632 ... No%206.png)
so, what is the reason these ships were completed with an 1950's vintage mounting? fitted for goalkeeper? no 76mm available?

if the batch 2 is a few years later, the technology used might get a bit upgraded. Mk 48 instead of Mk 29, SMART-S instead of WM egg, Rhib instead of lifeboat.......

btw, you do realise you have fitted the american licenced production oto 76 on your ships, right?

May I ask how much the 76mm on top of the hangar on the Batch 1's will impact on the hangar itself. Is there a magazine or anything like it beneath the gun?

About as much as a Goalkeeper there would. Weights and dimensions aren't too dissimilar from one-another. There's the carousel and that's about it, reloading would probably be a task and a half though once the ready use store is gone.
