Hi Thiel

Springsharp keeps doing that to me too. My version reverts to normal when I adjust the block coefficient in any direction, and stays normal when I adjust it back. Maybe this helps.

Apart from that - a very modest and plausible cruiser for Denmark, well designed and drawn!

Greetings
GD

Hi there

Is anyone else finding that the older drawings are not showing up?

Cheers,
Amartus

Yeah, most of them were hosted on Majhost, a site that has since shut down. I keep telling myself that I'll get around to reuploading them.

Hi Thiel

Makes sense. Is there anywhere else that I can check your earlier drawings out?

Cheers,
Amartus

Not at the moment, but I have them all backed up so I'll try an upload them later today. (South Korean Time)

These are the latest versions of the drawings that were hosted on majhost. I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to figure out which belongs where.

Hmm. Looking at them all it seems like I need to seriously rework my timeline. I guess that's what happens when you draw whatever strikes your fancy

I'm working on the follow on design to the Thetis class cruiser I posted earlier with a launch date in 1941, but I can't decide on a good layout for the secondaries
[ img ]
This layout gives me a decent amount of separation so no single hit can take out all the guns on one side, though there's a danger of loosing all the aft ones. It gives the guns great firing arcs to the aft but forward is restricted to two guns. Ammunition supply is complicated by the need to manhandle it across the deck so a ready store is necessary since the engine room is right below.
Unfortunately it makes it hard to fit boats and torpedoes where I want them.

The second layout makes the ammunition supply much simpler since they can share a magazine. The guns are quite close so a single hit could take out both (And the ~25 men manning them) and the crews might get in the way of each other. Blast might also be an issue.
It does have the no inconsiderable advantage that it keeps the aft half of the ship clear for boats and torpedoes.
Firing arcs are not as good as the other layout.

Edit:
I did some more mucking about and I think I've come up with an acceptable solution

I would agree with the last setup.

I was going to advise to spread the secondaries out more so they could not br all blown away with one shot.
