Updated images. I think, too, erik_t, that the 'grays floating around' have been removed. Only drawing I didn't update is the CCS vessel

Hmmmm, the forward VLS Sea Wolf I can just about buy. That might fit but it would probably only be a 24-cell VLS. I'm pretty sure adding a 4.5in gun is impossible. You need to look under the hull, too often people just plonk guns in. You'd need to build a magazine space, deck strengthening and add a hoist tube etc. Far too expensive to be practical and is the 4.5in gun really that important to what is essentially an anti-air and anti-submarine frigate? Harpoon would be a good addition instead if they can be fitted in.

Yes, I quite agree on the gun. You could probably drop on a 76mm Oto without tremendous difficulty, but a 4.5" mount is just too big and heavy.

Well, I have assumed that the4.5" would fit in a similar fashion as the one fitted to the later Batch 3, but that aside, I did seriously contemplate either leaving the space bare or fiting a smller gun. Now, the question would then be: which smaller gun type would actually be procured by the RN? I'm quite willing to buy that concept; have no issues with that suggestion. And Hood, I already shipped the Harpoon onboard her! Just abaft the bridge! And you're right about the size; it would be a smaller sized VLS launcher due to the relatively narrow, fine beam, I agree. Yet it'd be more advantageous in the larger perspective, I believe to fit such an installation. If, however, someone may propose how to modernize the existing Sea Wolf, or even fit, in a proper, realistic fashion the Aster-system, I'm all ears! Now, due to actual work, I won't be able to do much about it today, so, hopefully I can suggest something tomorrow, or Tuesday! But thanks for your clever inputs! Always a pleasure to read!

Just as an addendum: I've statred to consider something that I tentatively would call a "Disaster Relief and Intervention Vessel" based on the soon-to-be decommissioned HMS Cumberland, inspired by her recent duty in the Mediterranean area (Libya). I might come back to that soon. It'd be flying the UN colors, of course...

Updated the Regina Maria! I still think it's a fairly modest and realistic suggestion for a modernization of her!
