From Brown & Moores 'Rebuilding The Royal Navy', page 52, the various proposals for the Battle conversion included Scheme 'A', a full conversion, reboilering, a new AC electrical system and generators, revised armament, and improved habtitability acheived by the extended forecastle. The result would have been a handsome ship, unfortunately abandoned due to cost. The drawing in the book is quite basic, so I've taken a few liberties, one of which is to replace one dual Bofors mount with Seacat. The bridge is also more close to what was being bult at the time - with the same general look. This will also be one of the AU ships we (Grey Funnel Line) are including in our project, but with some diferences to this version:

I really like the looks of this one..... sad that it wasn't build. but what would have been it's role exactly? guiding long range missiles/aircraft?

radar pickets sit on the outer edge of task groups or off shore and provide radar coverage. They would also provide range and bearing data for fighter intercepts.

Thanks Bombhead, not least for supplying the ships badge. BTW, have you got ones for the Carlisle and Beaufort? :)
