Drawings outdated. New and accurate ones can be found HERE

Designed by Yuzuru Hiraga the n°13 class battleship would have been composed by 4 ships, and would have been be the first japanese battleship sporting the massive 18-inch guns in four twin turrets; this coupled with a planned top speed of 30 knots would have placed her among the fastest and most powerful battleship ever built, planned to be completed by the late 20's their massive dimensions would have been matched only by the Yamato class some 10 years later.
Canceled because of the Washington Naval Treaty while she was yet to beign laid down n°13 and her 3 sisters never recieved names.

N°13 as she could have looked once launched in 1928

an early design N°13 variant wich traded one main gun turret (and thus armed with only 6x18-inch guns) for more engine space and a top speed of 37 knots:

Hmm, looks good so far. You seem to be doing a good job despite the lack of refs. Waiting to see how this turns out. :)

AWESOME! :o Even though this is a WIP, judging from both this and your other drawings, I can't understand why you shouldn't be moved up to the "adult" forum. Can't wait to see the finished product. :)
My only thought is that the 18" guns look a bit funny. The "thickening" on roughly the middle of the gun tubes makes it look slightly disproportionate. I suggest looking on ALVAMA's drawing of the Yamato:

Yes, i forgot to redrawn the barrels after tracing the original drawing.
Meanwhile, updated the drawing.

If you want help with some parts of the hull look at the Kii, Tosa and Amagi classes for inspiration. The Nagato class could also be of some help.

BB 1987:
Don't forget that the Japanese n°13 class battle-cruiser/fast-battleship design is a "scale-up" version of the Amagi/Kii designs. For this, look the Amagi/Kii designs

Thanks guys for the help, i have indeed the idea to use the underwater hull of Amagi as a reference, especially for the aft part, as all N°13 drawings i have found never shows what lies below the waterline.

Also, corrected a mistake of mine replacing all 13mm/type 93 with Lewis 7.7mm , as the N°13 where supposed to be commissioned in late 20's/early 30's and the 13mm only came into service in 1936.

I'm with KHT on this: why is BB1987 still relegated to the backwaters of the BF? Isn't he already fully qualified to have his stuff posted where it should belong: Real Life Designs etc? As for this drawing, I'm too awaiting its completion eagerly!

I'm not terribly up on period Japanese designs. This is properly considered a never-built type, right?

I'll punt it upwards as soon as I know where it belongs...

Yupp, it belongs in the never-were departement. One of the designs busted by the Washington Treaty. :)
