Nice additions and interesting work based on textual sources. Not pretty ships but certainly interesting.

as I finally finished these but got stuck on the designs directly before them, I throw the chronological order overboard for the moment.
the ship this entire project is about!

other ships/dates are coming soon, as is the background story, but I did not want to keep this from you all after staying silence for literally monts in this thread.

feel free too shoot holes in the drawing, as I want it to be as good as it can be.

They look very nice! However, I think this drawing may be a good opportunity to decide if we're really, really, actually happy with the current SPS-40 and (....?) SPS-58 drawings.

if there are references for the SPS-40, I will gladly take it on. the scale is correct though with the reference drawing from US destroyers, as is the shape, so for me it was acceptable......

SPS-58? that one is not on the spruance, is it?

Whatever the smaller air search set is aft. I don't think that's TAS Mk 23, not in 1975.

Well I'm no USN expert, but I like what I see. Great job, nice to see this ticking along in whatever you order you wish.

updated and added some of the actual spruance class (real and never build both) into the first post. most of the pre-VLS variations are now drawn. (apart from kidd, that is) if you spot any errors, please notify me ;)

One thing I just noticed, on the August 1966 concept you've got a BPDMS director, but no missile or launcher.
