Interesting concept. I won't comment on the midships flightdeck.... but it looks more well though out with sponsoned out guns etc and much lower superstructure.
Love the Blue missiles too! I have a feeling that the boosters may have been smaller/ omitted due to the shorter range to be travelled etc. Two Wessex would give good ASW capability too. Overall a good mix of weapons.

These ships were between 14,300t and 15,300t standard and armed with five twin Mk.26 6"/50 gun turrets. Lack of funds killed the project around 1952-1953. The Neptune class were to carry the triple Mk. 23 6"/50 guns and were to be named Neptune, Mars, Edgar, Centurion and Minotaur. Bellerophon was a Tiger class cruiser, which was suspended and was to be added to the Neptune class which was designed in 1944 (or there about) and later cancelled in favour of the better armed Minotaur class of 1947

Edgar is an historical name for RN cruisers. Far more original than the names the RN uses these days.
Will we ever again see an Ark Royal? Another old traditional name gone. I have list somewhere of historical names, when they were first used and how many ships carried the name.

Edgar,King of England 959-975.Also known as Edgar the Peaceable.First English King to establish sea power on a firm basis.Eight ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Edgar.

HMS Edgar (1668), a 70-gun third-rate launched in 1668, rebuilt in 1700, and destroyed in an accidental fire 1711.
HMS Edgar (1758), a 60-gun fourth-rate launched in 1758 and sunk as a breakwater in 1774.
HMS Edgar (1779), a 74-gun third-rate launched in 1779, converted to a prison hulk in 1813, renamed Retribution in 1814, and broken up 1835.
HMS Edgar (1858), a screw-propelled 91-gun second-rate launched in 1858, on loan to the Customs Service as a hulk in 1870, and sold 1904.
The fifth Edgar, launched 1859, was renamed Hood in 1860.
HMS Edgar (1890), a Edgar-class cruiser launched in 1890 and sold 1921.
HMS Edgar (51), an aircraft carrier launched in March 1944, renamed Perseus in June, and broken up 1958.

Very interesting; and I hadn't realised that 'Edgar' was a time honoured ships name (but I keep thinking of Edgar Winter )
