That was actually implimented on several inter war designs.
Te submarines available at the time was too slow to engage a maneuvering target so the ability to shoot off-axis was considered worthwhile. Of course, it was soon found out that wasn't the case.

Fascinating :o I must say, this is one of best current topics; and what a subject! One of the things we tend to forget is that Italy had one of the largest submarine fleets pre WW2, and they had the nuounce to design boats like this one.

Thank you very much, PB!

Here is the evolution of B3 project, installing a 305/42 on the same hull...

Nice Lazer! Submarine Cruisers are some of the most interesting ships ever designed. Waiting for more. :D

Interesting drawings, done with the usual Lazer_One skill.
BTW you have left s small red line on the B3 design with the 305mm/42cal gun.
As for the the swiveling torpedo-tubes, the French navy used these up to the start of WW2, the cruiser submarine Surcouf is a good example.

Are you planning on doing this one?

I found it on Wesworld, it's a project from 1919 with 6x381mm and 8x120mm guns.

This is not a submarine, but a monitor, at least that is what I think.

Definitely a monitor, small one ... maybe river. Also our "Orzeł" ( Eagle ) class submarines use swiveling torpedo-tubes.
