My take on the design. I figure there would be another opening forward along with the one aft.
There almost certainly would be - US carrier doctrine mandated an essentially open-air hangar.

And I think operational wisdom - especially with the Japanese and the few fully enclosed-hangar carriers they produced - bore out the wisdom of USN operational doctrine.

Of course what's practical now has changed quite drastically and no longer resembles what's practical back then.

Well, the flight deck is the strength deck now, so one simply cannot have an open hangar. Of course, large elevator cutouts provide substantial ventilation as required.

Nice progress. This conversion has always interested me, perhaps not the most likely of plans to be implemented in real-life but certaintly it gives a different perspective from a fleet stuffed with Essexes.
Keep up the good work Jabba and kudos for attempting a top view and a portside view too!

Not my point man..... Not my point man....... If there are perhaps 3 topviews in earlier date, Mitch started the Hype, he made 20 kinds to show how it sould be done. A proper stadium started, He desingned textures and topview stuff as no body else did. ;)
Alex is absolutely right. It was indeed Mitch's idea to start with.Alex's Karel Dooman and Crazyhorse's Invincible were my inspirations to do carriers in this style and if you like them do them.Carry on Jabba you are doing a great job. ;)

Top views are certainly nice and welcome, but not strictly mandatory.

Top views are nice, if folk like to draw them, but like a lot of 'add ons' they are not why Shipbucket exists: the standard side view is the reason.
I give up

People seem to be confused on a lot of issues (a lot of people here have English as a second language) so sometimes it's helpful to repeat some things in a friendly manner.
