One of the most common what-ifs is the Type 82 fitted with Type 988 'Broomstick' radar. Oddly when the Type 988 was still on the design there were no aft funnels and there were a few other structural changes, mine is a amalgamation of both to better reflect what HMS Bristol might have looked like.

As a footnote, the Type 82 seems to be one of the most kitbashed of the earlier Shipbucket ships. I'm sure we are going to see a lot more...

right now I am left wondering a bit.... what if the anglo-dutch radar project, that led to the type 988 and the SPS-01, stayed an anglo dutch project, would the radar on this one look like the one on the tromp, or would the tromp have an radar like this one? both seem nice ideas to try out....... and at least one of them could be considered an never build even :P

I know ALVAMA, but the final version looked different... while the dutch one is more egg shaped, this one has an real dome.

Not sure on the answer to that question. Type 988 has always been protrayed as a pure dome on British artists impressions of Type 82 and CVA-01. Personally I think the dome looks better, especially on this ship. It is a verybig dome though, Type 988 wasn't exactly a small radar.
