Or ... Polar 8 Project (Part 2). This ship is still in the preliminary design stages, however it is expected to be smaller than the Polar 8 Project at 140 meters in length. It is officially called the Polar Class Icebreaker Project and it is expected to be the Canadian Coast Guard's contribution to maintain sovereignty in the Canadian Arctic along side the RCN's AOPS. It's missions are expected to be the same as the previously cancelled Polar 8 design, but at a smaller scale.
