The main problem I see with the design, beyond how many VLS cells there are, is that you've only installed Sea Sparrow directors (the two "fat binoculars" looking things that sit in the basket-like platforms at the top of the island). In order to use Standard missiles, what you really want is SPG-62 directors - the parabolic dishes that sit on top of the Burke and Tico classes, which are part of the Aegis combat system. That, and something within me rebels at the thought of using the *DC-9* as a carrier borne aircraft...

Oh, and the Super Tomcat-21 didn't look like that. The Grumman proposal had reprofiled the area in front of the variable geometry wing to make it a lot wider (it had a profile like the F-14A did with the glove vanes extended, but then rounded off). Torsten Anft's site has pictures.
