Garay were traditional native warships of the Banguingui people in the Philippines. In the 18th and 19th centuries, they were commonly used for piracy by the Banguingui and Iranun people against unarmed trading ships and raids on coastal settlements in the regions surrounding the Sulu Sea. This is the most detailed SB drawing i've done to date I've included extra info about the Lela/Lila cannon on the image, because it was already there on the reference the Blunderbuss configuration is the best for depiction in this scale, but wasn't the most common on these. Also, for somebody that decide to make an AU and make a vessel inspired by the garay but not as large of the depicted one, have a reference for weaponry. |
