The 4th ship of Type 072 III class (NATO designation Yuting class) tank landing ship, entered service into PLAN East Sea Fleet in May 1996.
She became famous due to being modified into a highly possible railgun testing platform in about 2018.

Railgun testing platform version
Compared to what she used to look like, significant changes below was made:
1.All twin 37mm AA gun was removed
2.The front door seems to be completely welded (but chinks are still visible)
3.A huge turret was mounted upon the front door
4.Some containers and other unknow equipments were placed on the front deck
5.A possible control room with large windows was mounted on the top of the bridge
6.A small containers, with what seems to be an AESA panel on the front side, was placed on the control room
7.Satellite antennas were added
8.The hull number was repainted in a different style

And this drawing above is just for fun
As the weapon is still classified, "camouflage" will be used while she is Berthing at a commercial dock. The "camouflage", is actually scaffolding and tricolor tarpaulin, which is widely used in construction sites. Chinese military enthusiasts think these things make the railgun, a expensive and advanced weapon, seems to be rustic
