my third attempt at drawing a real life ship, and something a bit more complex than the type 1934A destroyers that I've currently got on long-term project list.

the aircraft carrier Ryujo was a Japanese light aircraft carrier built in the early 1930s, she was small and lightly built to exploit a loophole in the Washington naval Treaty, however because of her light construction she proved to be top heavy and very unstable in moderate sea conditions.

August 1937 - 12 x Nakajima A4N1 fighters (plus 4 reserves), 15 x Aichi D1A dive-bombers
February 1938 - 9 x Mitsubishi A5M "Claude" fighters (plus 4 reserves), 15 x Aichi D1A dive-bombers
June 1941 - 18 x Nakajima B5N "Kate" torpedo-bombers, 16 x A5M4 "Claude" fighters
May 1942 - 18 X Nakajima B5N "Kate" torpedo-bombers, 12 x A6M2 "Zeke" fighters
August 1942 - 24 x A6M2 "Zeke" fighters, 9 x B5N2 "Kate" torpedo bombers
