Good evening: The German yard Fassmer GmbH had a design for a very attractive OPV. It was ordered by several south american navies, and is actually being built in Chile and Colombia. This are from Colombia, the first one was armed with a single Bofors in a turret, the second (the first depicted) with a twin Breda Bofors, and the last of the initial trio (the second drawing) was armed with a 76 Oto Melara gun. Both vessels also have a locally developed remote weapons station. The ships from Chile also shows a similar development, from the first armed with an enclosed 40/70 Bofors, and the last one, reinforced for ice operations, also is armed with the ubiquitous 76 mm gun. Credits: The guns are from Ace´s bellow the decks sheet. The Columbian flag was borrowed from Golly´s columbian swedish made destroyer. Thanks to both. Cheers. |

Nice drawing, but I've got to say its not the most attractive OPV design I've ever seen! I'm curious about the hull shape around the RHIB bay and hangar. Are the funnels flush or is the hangar set further back? The shading looks the same but the black line for the funnels suggests there is a setback here, maybe add some shadow? |

Good morning. Thanks for the feedback, guys! Yes, Hood! You are right! The funnel is flush with the aft superstructres, so the lines must be gray instead of black. And is also true that my drawing looks somewhat "spartan" in shadowing . I will fix it this evening. Thanks! |

Nice to see these patrol vessels. Does Chilean version is in your shipyard as well? |

As Hood mentioned - they might be attractive in terms of performance or costs, but not in terms of appearance. Anyway, nice effort. |

The Fassmer is not handsome indeed, but it is not an ugly ship. |

Oh, I understand your points about the "beauty" (or perhaps the lack of it) of the Fassmer opv. Yes, maybe it is not the most aestitically appealing vessel, but is an attractive design, as Eswube had pointed before, because it combines good seakeaping and endurance, reduced crew, low cost of operation, hangar and helipad for a 80 mts opv, technological transference and even, a reasonable good cost of adquisition. Here is my second attempt: Yes, Hood is rigth! They looks far more real with the gray lines. Thanks for your input, Cheers! PS: Yes, Odysseus, I have the last chilean ship (which is rather similar to the last columbian one), but I think that the fellow artists Gunship, Charguizard and Bunny will be happy to draw it, I consider that they are placed first in the prelation for drawing that vessel . |

I think that both are better now. |

Yes, removing the black line has indeed improved the drawing and it makes more sense now. |
