One of the most luxurious ships ever: SS Imperator. Sometime soon, I'll also post her sisters and their post-war versions. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Imperator |

I am honestly not a big fan of this darker windows/glass colour. I am also not certain you got everything right, as the bow eagle looks a lot smaller on this picture https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... P-4080.jpg, and the ship seems to have an completely different boot topping then you have shown. I also have doubts about the gap between the hull and the rudder....... also, this hull really deserves some shading showing her shape. not an bad drawing but I really hope the ship was not as weird looking as this in real life |

This is probably my favorite ocean liner class. Nice drawing. |

An excellent subject tsd715, but I have some reservations concerning the accuracy of your drawing, especially the aft section, specifically rudder and propellers. I also join acelanceloet's criticism about the windows/glass color, which is too dark. I also like to point out that the lifeboats could have been done better. |

I find the length to be quite a lot shorter than the real ship... IIRC it was 906 ft long |

Thanks for your comments, compliments, and suggestions. Acelanceloet - I'll change the glass color, that was a mistake that I didn't realize I had made until you pointed it out. The bow eagle is the correct size as far as I can tell. Looking at the picture you showed and my drawing, you can see that the entire bronze sculpture extends down to about the bottom of the anchor, and back to the first cutout in the hull in both images. That picuure does make it look smaller, but there are also angles that make it look much larger. I'll try to figure out the rudder and add some more shading. She really was a quite an odd looking ship, but I find that she looks much much better if you crop the underwater hull out of the picture, as she would appear if she were sailing. Novice - I will look into the propellers and rudder and change the window glass color. I'll also try to improve the lifeboats. APDAF - You're right about the length of the ship in real life, but my drawing is 1812 pixels long which conforms to SB scale unless I'm missing something. |

the anchor on the picture is however 2/3rds up the hull, not halfway like on your drawing......... note also how the line of the black paint of the hull is continuous from the bow to the superstructure, and quite a bit after that, something your main deck on the bow is certainly not . Are you certain your reference images were not faulty? |

I think I see what's going on with the black paint on the bow...he's trying to show the sheer of the hull, how the bow curves slightly upwards...note the same effect on the main portion of the superstructure. |
