Hello again!

Just something little to flex my fingers and get into the real ships business again...

Ottoman torpedo Gunboat Peyk-i-Sevket, built in Germany in 1908 and listed as 'cruiser' by the Ottoman Navy. She and her sister Berk-i-Satvet had a long service life through both world wars, being converted to minelayers between the wars and scrapped in the early 1950s.

A very nice addition, I think we have quite a few Ottoman era ships now.
Well drawn to GD's usual standards with good detailing and nice colouring.

Indeed nice to see these bit smaller warships of more lesser known navies, such as the ottomans one.

I've "done" it yet:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=3444&p=70555&hilit=sevket#p70555

But of course not in your usual excellent standards.

Nice drawing, was that colour standard?

Waritem, true but the drawing represents a different year.

Hello again

@waritem
Rats! I did not run the search function for that one - being a real ship, I thought it would be in the archive if it had been drawn, and only checked there, and found nothing.
Why did you not have it uploaded btw? It's more than good enough IMHO :)

@Tempest
I've read on a site on WWI warship colours (don't ask me which one, it was long ago) that the Ottoman Navy adopted 'khaki' to paint at least part of their ships during the first Balkan war in order to better disguise them when at anchor. Some contemporary sources (I've seen a coloured postcard showing an old Ottoman ironclad under fire by Italian cruisers, and it looks definitely khaki-ish) support this too. Apparently this regulation remained in force throughout the first world war. The exact tone of that colour remains unknown; mine is what one might call an educated guess.

Greetings
GD

@Garlicdesign

That's very kind of you, but this design didn't deserve to be uploaded.
And i felt a bit ashamed for the "rude jacking" and planned some updates that i never made.

By the way no regrets at all: yours is , as always, a true masterpiece.
