Nice, but the various curves on the hull could do with some close attention.

Looks like a good start StealthJester, the detailing is very good. You have not overdone the 'aerials' which can detract from the drawing.

As Thiel says the hull shading needs a bit of work. Have a look at the 'R' class BB's Hood has done in the main archive. They may be 5 years later but a British hull of those times was very similar. (The Brits did manage to put 24 odd dreadnought to sea in that 5 year period).

Well done.

A nice start.
You might want to look at the RN Weapons sheet too, I don't think Neptune's turrets are on there but the 12in Mk XI barrels are there.

I'm not talking about the shading, I'm talking about the outlines. Many of the curves are kinda jagged

I concur with Thiel. A drawing that is 90% great, and the other 10% should be fairly quick cleanup.

Well, I would not look at the "R"-class, since it's hull was very different from the Neptune. But we have the original dreadnought, HMS Dreadnought in the archive. Also, I've made a boat sheet to be used. I'd much rather use those boats than what you've got now. Boot topping color is wrong; again, refer to the already drawn RN vessels of the period for the correct color. Shading also needs some substantial work to make curvatures etc fair smoothly. Do you have Received.A Burt's British Battleships of World War One? That's a great reference guide, together with using photos.

Actually Thiel, Erik_t and Bezo, StealthJester has actually got the outline pretty much to how it was.

It IS the shading that needs to be done over. Which is why I pointed SJ toward Hood's latest R class drawings for the colours and use of shades by Hood to show the curves and planes of the hull.

The use of shading will soften those 'ragged' edges.

they are refering more to the roundings where there are parts '3 pixel-1 pixel- 4 pixel- 2 pixel- 5 pixel' steps, I think.

that said, somewhat better hull shading would make this good drawing great.
looking at krakatoa's reference, the stern underwater hull needs some work though, as does the bilge keel and the stem, and the propeller shafts look slightly diagonal in the reference but are straight in the drawing.

Yes, I'm not talking about shading at all. I'm talking about poor piecewise representation of complex curves.
