So, here's the third, and, hopefully final attempt to post the (in-) famous Northampton-class - now really well worked over: The first iteration is the one, that was the subject for the so-called "knuckle"-debate, USS Chicago (CA-29). The USS Chicago (CA-29) depicted as of 1937/38 when, as flagship of the Cruisers, Scouting Force, US Pacific Fleet, she flew the flag of RA Joseph K. Taussig. I think maybe the line the aft flag is on is a little weirdly kinked, but otherwise it is asymptotically approaching the perfect Shipbucket drawing. |

More is to come. Be patient. I've got the other two fleet flagship versions as well as the Chester, Louisville and Northampton. I've got really excellent Hi-Rez images of the ships. Also, I will do Houston as of 1940-42, and, possibly Northampton as of 1940/41. Further I've not decided. Maybe Ian (Colo) could join and do late war versions, since they really don't appeal much to me? |
