Destriero is the ultimate big boy's toy, with 54,000bhp and sexy Italian styling.
The yacht was originally fitted with three GE LM1600 gas turbines, providing it with a maximum speed of 110 km/h (59.4 Knots,68.4 MPH) and raced for the Blue Riband award in 1992, but was denied it, because Destriero was classed as a "private yacht" and not a "commercial passenger vessel".
BTW is still unbeaten the speed record of 53.1 knots average from New York to England without refueling.

Moreover Locked Martin used the Destriero hull form as the basis for the Freedom class littoral combat ship...and now an order for several unit has been placed to Marinette Shipyard, a company of Finmeccanica.

A note to the drawing: several sponsor logos were on the yatch...I had not enough patience for them!

The hull needs a darker color per Shipbucket standards and overall it feels very...plain. The plain look makes it feel more like a below average personal design than a real ship. Adding the sponsorship logos might help that.

And I think Alex might be high :p

So? There are still opportunities to add further definition to even a very plain hull:

I completed the drawing with all the sponsors.

Here is the version as SB Standard:

but at the end the waterline cannot be drawn on the hull...

Very nice :) I'd read about this boat a while ago, but hadn't realised the hull was used for the Freedom; so a very significant design, not just for the fastet crossing of the Atlantic

A very nice project, good draw.
BTW in order to win the Blue Ribbon the ship has to carry passengers who paid for the passge (at least one passenger who paid), so how many passengers did she carry on her winning passage?
