I'm beginning a new thread and ship: The second of the Richelieu-Class battleships, the Jean bart.

I'm beginning with how she appeard in june 1940 as she escaped invading nazi forces:

This is obviously very much a work in progress WIP

that is quite dark shading :O also, not certain what it represents as shape.

I was experimenting with the color sheet from the Richelieu. I'm not sure about the darker shading either. :oops: :D :roll: :lol:

Awesome...can't wait for this! The WWII French Navy's approaching IJN-level attention on the board at this rate! While the IJN will always be my #1 favorite, the French built some beautiful ships, and I'm glad to see them get their Shipbucket dues.

Okay here is Jean Bart as she appeared 19 June 1940.

I am having some problems reconciling the differences in the level of completeness of the towers between the photos and the various reference drawings. Colombamike, the photos show towers--especially the bridge tower--much more complete than your reference drawing. :o

Also which areas should be colored in primer red and which in yellow? :roll:
