I was going through the Real Designs Archive and saw a great number of ships in the Royal Navy WWII attributed to (Unknown). I’d like to attempt the HMS Renown (1916) but when I looked through the member listing, I found no one listed as (Unknown). Does this person exist? How do I go about getting permission to begin the project? Never mind I looked further under Great Britain and saw Hood's work. Very nice job Hood. |

unknown is not a name of somebody, but are some people back in the days shipbucket did not have a template and thus no crediting. because these drawings are quite old, IIRC you may consider these drawings as unclaimed. |

Unknown is the name used for the drawings made by Andrew Arthur, who had a site by the name RN Encyclopedia. In that site he had posted drawings of RN ships to a common scale and style, in effect the forbear of the Shipbucket scale, and some what had an impact on the style (or so I think). Andrew Arthur's site is no longer in existence, and his drawing are grouped here as Unknown (I think that it is not known for sure weather Andrew Arthur had these drawings made). |

I would note that all of Hoods drawings of Repulse & Renown in the RL Archive are of their WW2 versions, none of their as built versions seem to be around, unless I have missed something. |

That is true, I haven't done the original versions yet. Might be some time if ever before I get round to it. Right now I'm working on another RN project. |

She's your ship, eventually you'll draw her as built.
