Rather than trying to find the old (now dead) thread pertaining the Duke of Edinburgh-class armoured cruisers, I've decided to open a wholly new one.

Thanks to a windfall of Hi-Rez(!) pictures and the acquisition of the seminal work by Norman Friedman "British Cruisers of the Victorian Era (2012), I have been able to thoroughly rework the DofEs. I begin with the namesake of the class, the plucky HMS Duke of Edinburgh, shortly after commissioning, in 1906, and flying the Union Jack, denoting a very high-ranking officer (or Admiralty official) onboard, and with her original short 'racy' funnels - a favorite design element of Sir Phillip Watts, and continuing with my personal favorite, the HMS Black Prince as she appeared as a member of the 1st Cruiser Squadron in the Mediterranean between 1912-13, i. e. shortly after having had her funnels lengthened.

My only comment is that the turrets look a bit off. Are you certain those angles should have black lines?
Other then that, very nice work!

That is so beautiful and amazingly drawn. You have reset the standard Sir. Thankyou for sharing it with us.

Very funny you should've asked that ace - and a very relevant question for that matter, since those angles were something I've been also pondering about. And the answer is, yes, they should be black, since, though not strictly 90 degree angles, they, nevertheless, are very clearly sharp angles, with very clear breaks between the different plates, consisting the turret face, sides and rear. Any doubts thereabouts has been removed by the recent sets of very detailed Hi-Rez pictures I've acquired. What I mean is, that by not using black lines to show the true angles, their acuteness would risk being lost.
Hopefully this fully resolves the question.

Pondered ace's suggestions some more, and came up with a solution which I hope is satisfactory.
Also tweaked some more with the drawing; among others, replacing the 50ft steam pinnace with a 42 ft ditto, and a search platform abaft it.

Great work.

Just noticed: the aft wing turret barbette... the shading is the wrong way! and the shading on the casemate is a bit weird, when I am thinking that the light is coming from the bow direction...

one thing.... that propeller .... it's just so porno!
