Where as my still unpublished seccond AU project has reached itself into river Amur, I couldn't help but get myself lost in these nice little vessels that were, among their type, best of their kind in the whole world, and gave both Imperial Russian, as well as Soviet Amur flotilla valuable service from early 1910's up till late 1950's.

Each of the class member managed to end up into little bit different guise along their careers, but I've tried to present only those of the main desing lines, and the ones with good references.

River monitors yes. For Amur and Ussuri in the Far East. they were really beamy 12.8meters with really low draugth (1.4m maxium)
the main guns were in A and Y positions, with the wing turrets en-echelon, usually so that the fore and aft turrets were single 152mm and the wing turrets twin 120mm....but some boats had all twin 120mm, some all 152mm singles and at some point the 152mm turrets were rearmed with 130mm guns.

Interesting stuff. These river monitors are ships which are largely disregarded in any shipping forum. Many European countries had those, especially those land-locked countries like Austria, Hungary and others.
Thanks Golly for these.
