While I'm looking for good reference pictures of the travelling crane for the USS Pigeon, I started drawing another interesting auxillary of the US Navy.

USS Safeguard ARS-50, nowadays USNS Safeguard T-ARS-50.

It might take a bit longer for a semi finished hull, but I will try.

Is safeguard the name of the ship or class or both?

Ending my short break after finishing the Pigeon, I restarted this project today.
So here is a small update.

I will first finish the ship's main hull before continuing with the superstructure.

What part of the ship do you have floating above the stern? Both pieces?

Thats those colors he is using in this drawing. I do that to. the other one is just a overhang with some shading that he is using as a help toll to se how it shall be shaded.

Update

In principle I finished the main hull. The 'RS' in front of the hull number is still missing, unless I will depicture her in MSC service. The 'RS' has to be half the heigth of the '50', but I don't get it right. Maybe someone can give me a clue.
