Japanese River gunboat Toba. You wouldn't beleive how hard it was to find a refernce for this one.
Here she is as in 1914, with 2x1 3.1"/28's.

Nope, all the pictures I found don't have any, neither did my reference. It's a river gunboat, so it more or less makes sense.

I might have a pic that shows her with some sort of railing amidships, but it's hard to tell. Remember, Toba and all the other IJN gunboats up to the 1940 Hashidate-class were designed solely for use on the rivers in China; they even had to be transported to China in sections and then reassembled there. -Matt |
