Finally made time tonight to get this one "done", barring a camo scheme that will have to wait until this weekend.

Have to say I enjoy putting torpedoes on the missile line.

Compare to the out-of-scale original from March of 2008. Four years makes a big difference!

In 1944 after Mare Island refit in Aug 1943. Measure 32/2c:

Late-war square bridge type that apparently has been much-anticipated:

Oh.My.God. This is just AWESOME!
Will you be drawing an upgrade for the FRAM II and the DDR version?
The old, vintage version of FRAM II and DDR Fletchers: http://s11.invisionfree.com/shipbucket/ar/t1564.htm

I don't use the much devalued 'awesome' (as I haven't as yet been granted a devine manifestation!), but this is a superalative drawing and it speaks for itself. Not only is Colosseum 'back in the saddle' - he's now rounding up the cattle!!! :D

Nice work, tougth about the sloping waterline... wouldn't be better looking to level the ship for the upper part of the dark coat, instead the bellow one? thats how its usually drawn when the waterline markers have not been straigth.

Much better than the old Fletcher you did some time back.
I'm glad you see you back getting these US ships into fine shape.

Very nice, Colosseum! It also looks like there's a new radar to add to the relevant parts sheet, the original SC radar.

Maybe, it was very difficult to find time to finish this one and post-war ships are not on my priority list. As always I can supply Photoshop PSD working files or stripped down PNG format files for anyone wishing to make post-war conversions.

The drawing is leveled from the design waterline, which is (on the drawing) about 3-4 pixels below the top of the boot topping. The boot topping itself is just an indication of where the ship sits when fully-loaded etc (as I'm sure you know), and since it's just paint, I don't see any reason not to draw it the way it looked in real life.
