One of my favorites that Ive beed deprived for not having good sources untill quite recent findings (that contained some more intresting spanish things) Based on the aborvtive French La Frier class torbedoboats/ligth destroyers, the Audaz class was commisioned to spanish navy post WWII, and modernised during the late 50's into ASW escorts. Here comes them in their classical torbedo boat suite. If someone has proper linedrawing of their later guise, I would be most welcome to have them to work on witht he modernised versions. |

Nice work. The concentration of firepower aft makes sense when withdrawing etc after a torpedo attack. Generally its a 1930s ship but of course the Civil War and other wartime problems resulted in these ships commissioning far later than planned. I'm sure Jane's had a plan in one of their books of the supposed appearance of the class in 1945-47 timeframe. |

Well in sense, the Soviet SRK's of Project 29, 42 and 50 were Torbedo boats in the traditional guise (if bit gun-biased and slower due their purpose in general patrol duties) But aside them, these indeed, along with the Danish boats are the swan song of one classic class of warships. |
