Thanks shipmates; I'll take on board the suggestions:
if you use shading on the bow sponsons, why not use them on stern ones?
Also, in the hull cutouts, against the dark grey, ligther grey railing looks pretty odd, perhaps adjust the colors by using even more darker grey for the railing. Otherwise nice drawing. if you use shading on the bow sponsons, why not use them on stern ones? I'll look into the sponsons; and sure, if there is a rear overhang it ought to be shaded similar to the forward section. Re the hull cutouts; I cribbed this idea from other drawings (Bombhead, Hood anongst others); and though the railings look light they are the same shade as the ones on the upper deck. But yes, I'll try what you suggest and put it out for comment.
OH Yes,very nice Bill.As probably gathered I'm a carrier freak. Will you do a port side view?
No port side, for the same reasons given by graham; but I have the plan view supplied by graham and I do plan to do that when time permits. graham also supplied the Melbourne so I'll be doing that as well. I'm planning to represent her when commisioned with Venom's and Gannet's.
Very nice Bill. How about adding the S-51 SAR?
Sure, if it was in service during the Korean conflict circa 1951
As a Aussie I would love to see the next drawing of Sydney as she looked when she was the Vung Tow Ferry (spelling) I spent a week at sea on her as a 15year old in 1967 !! (took me about two days to find the heads!!!!) it was a real eye openner for me then
No worries; I have that famous role planned as an update. I reckon I'll need to consult you on the details; as it is the earlier Sydney has been a challenge.
